Manuscript evaluation: *Most popular service! Your completed or partial manuscript (rough or final draft) will be read and evaluated on its market potential. You will receive a detailed, written assessment about the work's strengths and weaknesses, with suggestions about how to improve it and make it ready for submission to an agent or publisher.

3000 - 10,000 words - $ 250.00
up to 70,000 words - $ 350.00

Substantive/structural editing: A broad edit, dealing with organization, balance, logic, flow, level of detail and consistency. This type of edit would normally take place before a more detailed edit, especially for a larger project.

Copy editing (Basic or including stylistic editing): Basic copy editing involves correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, word usage and mechanics. When stylistic editing is included, sentence structure, transitions, clarity, language usage, reading level, redundancies and other non-mechanical elements are also considered.

Proofreading: This is final check over a previously edited and formatted manuscript or document. I will be watching for spelling errors, typos, formatting errors, punctuation, and any other glaring errors that the copyeditor may have missed.

***Note: All editing and proofreading jobs are negotiated individually, as they vary in the amount of editing required, type of editing desired, and length of time needed to do the best job possible. All jobs are based on $50.00/hour and prices are negotiated AFTER I have seen a sample of the work.

Major manuscript rewrite: You have a great idea but your writing skills are not up to par. Your story is written and worth pursuing but it needs some major work. I will edit your manuscript, discuss all major changes that I feel will improve your work, and then rewrite the manuscript, incorporating the new ideas and improving the work from the inside out. You will be left with a manuscript that is in professional form and ready for submission to an agent or publisher.
